This has to do with (a) the fact that the actual word “bootie” (only when referencing the above-ankle footwear that is still too diminutive to achieve full-fledged “boot” status) makes me inexplicably uncomfortable; and (b) the sad reality that the act of walking in said near-boot footwear (particularly of the peep-toe variety) usually hurts like woah. However, this pair is truly so comfortable that I recently wore them to a post-flight meeting in London―which is unprecedented since I generally refuse to wear anything remotely resembling heels in the immediate aftermath of deboarding aircraft (read: Swollen, Jet-Lagged and Angry Hangry).
If you’re in the market for a fresh pair of booties (agh just typing it hurts me) or even just good ol’ fashioned boots for fall, check out Nordstrom’s near-endless selection. I’m currently having a very tough time resisting these ones, these ones, and these ones. Nordstrom is basically boot shopping heaven, which I’m growing increasingly certain will be the cause of my demise. Death by boot overdose. That’s an embarrassing way to go.
